Mount Victoria House 2

Completed 2018

Alterations.

Switching the position of the kitchen and dining room in this 1910 Villa made all the difference to the family of four living here.

A series of alterations over the years had lost the house's sense of harmony and grace.

A dining table now links the kitchen and family room, with a large sliding door opening to the garden. A new window seat in the kitchen creates a sunny social space.

Draughty French doors in the family room were replaced with a double hung window, while in the den, new walnut bookcases add depth and elegance.

A small powder room gains a big personality with use of a strong graphic wallpaper, while upstairs a large bathroom is cleverly divided with a glass mosaic wall, allowing the door to be left open to a view of the garden.
